What you will do
- Own the station's mechanical design: winch, tether handling and docking hardware
- Design mechanisms that hold safely when power is lost
- Take parts from CAD to drawings, vendors, assembly and test
- Keep it simple to set up and repair in the field
What you bring
- Five or more years designing machines that were built and used
- Mechanisms, drivetrains and structures, with the calculations to back them
- Design for manufacture, and good relationships with machine shops
- Winches, cranes, heavy equipment or robotics is a plus
